I am a woman in my late 20’s. Sometimes I just feel that I am bound to be more than 9 to 5 work. In fact, I hate the routines and responsibilities just to keep making profit for the company and doing a clerical jobs. I want something more freeing and fulfilling like social or voluntary jobs. But, surviving in the world seems more important since I have no parent, single, and no one else will pay for my bills. I do have siblings, but we are not a wealthy family and they always expect me to be independent. Not to mention that they also have their own family as well. So yeah, I don’t want to be a burden for them. But I also wanna quit my job and live a modest life somewhere.

The reasons why I want to leave my job are because its toxic culture, mismanagement, and lack of appreciation. Actually, there is still a lot of reasons to be listed down. However, those three were the most crucial for me since it also affects the other and not only me. To be frank, I got a lot of good things in my current job as long as I can play along with how the organizations work. But, there is still a dissatisfaction of what could be the ideal organizations and it bothers me. In the other hand, I also don’t have the power or ability to change it. I think that is why I left. I wanna save my ass and run from the responsibility to bring change. I know what is good but I see it is futile to try to change the organization simply because I am lazy and incapable.

I know it is a selfish reason, but I do know my goal. Right now my priority is to save money and prepare for my retirement. Actually, I don’t plan to live a long life and will give all of my assets or investment to my siblings or nephews. So, I don’t give any attention on trying to change my workplace. So, what I do now is simply for economics reason. I don’t have an ownership of my current office and so I just want to leave it. But, I realized that I cannot quit in three years because of the contract. So, I need to hang on and keep on saving.

But then let’s say, the contract is already completed and I will be leaving. So, what’s next? If I keep on saving and investing, I will have enough money to spend on my retirement and do what I want to do, traveling. However, it will be insufficient to buy a land or a house. Therefore, I will be a nomad and as free as a bird. It’s true that I still have my sibling’s place if I need to go home. Yeah, but I will have nothing. Yeah, nothing but thirty.
